I feel like summer came and went so fast this year.  Everyone kept telling me... "oh, I know the rain is bad, but summer is so beautiful it is all worth it".  Well.  The verdict is in and... not. worth. it.  Maybe it was because of the morning sickness I had all summer long, preventing me from enjoying the hot weather.  I know I didn't take advantage of all the sunny days, but had we had a few more weeks, I think I wouldn't be so bummed.  And now that the crispy weather is back, and I'm in my sweats by 4 pm because I'm so cold, I find myself looking back at some of my summer photos...

I love our back deck!  We had some pretty amazing dinners outside this year.

I put in this new cutting garden last spring...

...for fresh flowers on the table when ever I want... see?

I want half my garden to be poppies.  Absolute fave flower!

Our peas took over our garden this year.  Tyler was like a proud dad and showed everyone that came over.

My tub of succulents is one of my most prized possessions.

Love this little Dr. Seuss flower.

Climbing vine on our deck with passion flowers. ooooh-lala!

I just looked outside at our back yard and it looks nothing like this picture.  It's so cold and foggy and almost everything is dead.  But it's cool, I should snap out of my Debbie Downer mood around July or so...

  1. I wish I could have seen you and your house when I was there a few weeks ago. The house and yard are beautiful!

  2. It would probably NOT be a good idea if we had lunch focused around the topic of OR weather....we would both leave sick and sad and bummed about the weather (and still looking like we ate a lot - ha!!).
I love the yard and flowers tho!
