Oh Heather, why'd you have to leave...

My homegirl Heather moved to Boise.  I am gonna miss her in the wooooorst way.  I guess it's a good thing I never work anymore, because it would sure suck without her.  She was my number one partner in crime.  I can't even look at the frozen yogurt machine without bursting into tears.  She's my favorite farmers market date and she was there by my side for Riggs birth... (oh yeah, I still owe ya big time for that day!)

We threw her a going away party and it was a total hit.  People love this girl around here.  I hope she makes it back this way after she's done studying her little brains out.  No seriously, you better come back!!!

HAPPY 100 YEARS HOUSE!!!

Tyler and I bought this house in 2010.  It has been one of the best decisions we've ever made.  We have been so happy here, in our tiny bungalow.  She is an oldie goldie she is, turning 100 years this summer.  Sad to say, our house has never looked worse.  Somehow, since Riggs was born, we have only had time to do the bare minimum to upkeep our home... like, put the milk away or take out the trash once every two weeks.  It's so pathetic.  I'm scared to see what it is going to look like once I start nursing school next week... yikes.  Here's some pictures of our perfect little homestead on some of her rare "good days".

Hey Sycamore Street... Two huge dorks just moved into your neighborhood.

I have a love / hate relationship with the giant willow trees in our front yard.
The moss covered trunks I love love love...

The billions of leaves that fall to the ground are the HATE portion of our relationship.

This winter wonderland come to visit about twice a year.  It usually melts away the same day it came, but cool anyway I guess.

Our tiny, and only, bathroom of the house.  Our guests are usually unsure about this room, knowing everyone in the rest of the house can hear them peeing.  But don't let this deter you from visiting us!

Usually I have to ask Tyler around 14 times to do something around the house.  For instance, it took 8 months for him to install the garbage disposal.  But I bought these kitchen shelves from Ikea, and without even asking, they were up lickity-split.  Love them.

(Sorry there's no picture of the rest of the kitchen... It's never been clean enough to take a picture.  Just not gonna happen.  Yeah, we're gross, we know. )

Snapshots of Riggs room... my favorite room in the house.

Little man's growth chart.  Made it with my own two hands for less than 5 dollars... holla!

Teri made these flags for my baby shower and they've been hung in Riggs room ever since.

Ha.  Our kid never sleeps.  He is the real life energizer bunny.  He holds the world record of waking up 9 times last night... happened just this week.

This is what laundry day looks like...  (who am I kidding, more like "laundry month")  Can you find 3 month old Riggy in the pile of clothes? Laundry is my nemesis and I would rather scrub toilets or pick up dog poo instead.

We are quickly out growing our tiny sardine can of a house but we love it so much!!

UTAH - June 2012

I'm still just trying to catch up from my blogging hiatus.  I wanted to get some pictures on here of my trip to Utah for a cluster of events that happened in June. First off, we had a birthday party for my gram.  She turned a ripe old 85, but she still looks the EXACT same to me from when I was a child.  She is amazing and I wish I could see her more often. The party brought all of my siblings together, which only happens about once a year.
I love being the baby bird of these sibs.
(sorry for using this photo of ya Justy, it's the only one I had of all of us. I'm not looking to good either so there's that).

Grammy-gram with 12 of her 13 great grand kids. A couple of JJ's boys just can't quite control their excitement to be in this picture.

The party was a total success.  Everyone had a great time.  I love Rigg's little mug in this picture.

The second big event was my nephew Hunter's baptism.  I love this freakin' kid.  He is the happiest, mellow kid.  If Rigg's turns out to be half as cool as Hunt, I'll be stoked.

Richie and his girls.  Nice smile Chief Wiggum.

...Much better photo Dad.

We went camping in the Uintas and it was one of the worst nights of my life.  I couldn't get Riggs to sleep for more than 20 minutes without him waking up screaming.  I fed him all night long while I froze with my shirt off.  He finally fell asleep in my arms while I was sitting in the drivers seat of the car, so that's where I stayed, freezing, wide awake from 3 am on... I'm gonna get Riggs back for this someday.
JJ and the little cry baby.

Morning after the night from Hell

Coolest girls on the planet.

And the last major event was the wedding of this little peach.  Doesn't she look beautiful?!  Her wedding was the nicest freaking wedding I've ever been to.  On a beautiful ranch up a canyon in Heber.  Best food imaginable.  And so many friends that I haven't seen in a loooong time.  Such a fun night.  Tucker, you are a lucky man.
(As if Tucker is ever going to read my blog! haha)

This was my little shadow the entire trip.  She came everywhere with me.  I loved it.  I used to have two little shadows but now Tatie is like 20 years old and too cool.

It was such a fun trip...
UTAH I MISS YA!!!!

Mr. Mitchell's Farm

Tyler and I were beyond lucky to have all the fresh organic produce we could possibly eat this summer.  Thanks to Tyler's high school ecology teacher and his magic soil.  We go grocery shopping in his garden each week and then jump off his dock into the Willamette river to cool off.  This really has been the best summer since moving to Oregon.  I'm in denial that I start school next Monday.

The man, the myth, the ledgend.  Tyler is ALWAYS ranking stuff.  The other day I heard Tyler refer to Mr. Mitchell as "One of his top 5 favorite people".  I'd agree with that... the guy is pretty awesome.

This is Mr. Mitchell's backyard.

chubby little toad.

Field of Dreams

Pick a pail of peppers.

All this loot from just one trip to the garden.

 Funky green beans.

Even funkier black tomatoes.

Tyler never stops smiling when he's in a kayak.

see?

Beets as big as yo head!

Always a teacher.  Although he is retired, he teaches us something new everytime we are there.

Biking home with a bike cart full of food through a hazelnut orchard.  I see your foot Riggy!

We support Mr. Mitchell when he puts on "Science, Music and Marshmallows".  The community comes out for a bonfire, good music and a lecture about something usually related to science or nature. Completely normal to see Mr. Mitchell holding something as obscure as an elk skull. The guy chuck full of knowledge.

And here's a funny video of Riggs from a day on Mr. Mitchell's dock...

Awe yeeeah, Kmart photoshoot.

So this is something I told myself I would never do once I had kids.  I can't stand kid pictures with hideous curtain backdrops and cheesy props.  But have a Kmart associate flash a 40% coupon in my face and apparently that's all it took to change my mind.  It was actually pretty fun since Riggs is such a smiley kid.  The pictures turned out ok I guess, but sorry Olan Mills, never again.
